Failure
It is important to realize that making mistakes in the lab is absolutely normal. As the proverb goes, you cannot make an omelette without breaking eggs (or in German - Wo gehobelt wird fallen Späne). "Failure is the best way to learn ".
But it is important we indeed learn from failures, so we must talk about them. Tell the others of your mistakes, so that they can avoid doing the same mistakes. We need an open and constructive "error culture" in our team.
Some mistakes break equipment and are costly. Everyone of us has more than one story to tell about things that went wrong, and yes, I am no exception. ;-) I will not be angry about that - if you are open about your mistake, show you learned from it, and take responsability.
